Candidate DS001 - Consumer Channels

A professional with a solid track record with Commercial, Strategy and Operations experience managing teams throughout MEA. A highly respected leader, she has a reputation for turning around businesses to produce aggressive growth in a short period of time. 

Her accolades include taking the biggest steps towards lowering the barrier to affordability of smart services in Africa, she created the world’s most affordable smart device portfolio and is also the highest rated employee at her current Group for the last 3 years. Previously at Huawei, she developed and implemented business strategy to achieve company targets- achieved 100% of target, grew overall market share from 3%-10% in 8 months in 2015. 

At Lenovo, she successfully introduced the Lenovo Mobile brand into Africa and grew market share to 15% average across Africa; listed the Lenovo Mobile brand in 90% of all organized retail across major markets (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, Mozambique); and developed a solid wholesaler network.

Candidate DS002 - Enterprise Sales

Currently an Enterprise Executive at a global Tech firm, he is responsible for the global enterprise sales team, ensuring they meet their customer sales objectives in terms of revenue, TCV, Margin and NPS, with a revenue target of R2,2bn FY21. Achieved sales and revenue targets for three consecutive years (CEWA).

Transformed the East African team by ensuring they grow other markets to de-risk Kenya as being the only revenue contributor to the region. Double digit growth across all markets in region (CEWA). Built a new team in East and Central Africa. Managed the consolidation of two regions into one region i.e. West Africa and East Africa into a single unit into Central East and West Africa (CEWA).

A multi-award winning innovator experienced in building new businesses & digital products across multiple industries, he co-founded Barclays Rise Africa (Barclays Africa Open Innovation business unit) that connects and co-create solutions with Fintechs. He positioned banks in Africa build the best fintech accelerator in Africa and developed new innovative fintech propositions for Investment Banking. 

In 2017 he won a global innovation award from Gartner (Best Digital Business Model in Europe, Middle East, and Africa) for a solution developed with a fintech partner in Nigeria providing access to finance to customers that would have been excluded from the financial services system (due to lack of credit history) using social media data. He is one of Africa’s leading fintech thought leaders, having served as lead judge at the 2016 and 2017 Africa FinTech Awards.  Mentored and helped scale a number of start-ups in South Africa, Kenya, and Nigeria.

Currently serves on a number of global boards notably Seso Global a Nigerian and UK based fintech that developed a fintech platform to help drive financial inclusion by unlocking capital trapped in real estate assets through the creation of digital land records, and Envel Bank where he co-foundered a US based digital fintech bank that developed a financial wellness proposition using AI that helps its customers better manage their finances.

Candidate DS004 - Transmission Networks

A results driven individual, he is a “Hands on Leader” experienced in driving product, process and customer service improvements while building partnerships with key business decision makers. 13 years knowledge and experience working as a Programme/Project Manager, Operations Manager and acting CTO on the deployment and operations of Fixed and Mobile Networks mostly in Southern Africa, East and West Africa. 

Responsible for end-to-end operational functions within the County including Radio Planning & Optimisation, Network Quality, Project Management, Radio Maintenance & Installations, Customer Care, Transmission Planning, Implementation and Maintenance, to ensure overall network quality & service delivery. 

He has partnered with Vendors, Operators and consulting firms globally, covering technologies (GSM, CDMA, WCDMA/UMTS, SDH/PDH, ATM, IP, Converged Technologies), Transport Networks and major civil infrastructure projects. 

Candidate DS005 - Services Leader/Country Operations

Currently Executive Director – Services Africa at a global Healthcare, he is responsible for Sales, Revenue /Margin Africa, Sales Strategy for Service Contracts, Go to Market Strategy, Creating Africa CS Strategy, and Healthcare Services. 

He received the Best Practice Awards – Leading Emerging Markets; and Cost Saving Initiatives – Global award; Service Strategy Innovation with Accolades of Best Practice, and 1st in World Implementation of QRS Level 3 in 5 African Countries. 

He launched the Specialised Signature Service Program – Premium Service, 1st in World Woman Technical Program, and New Mobile In-Home Program for Same Day Service on Home Appliances. At BMW, he introduced Connected Drive, and was tasked with running the group’s innovation and strategy. 

Candidate DS006 - Advanced Analytics

An Analytics Leader, he led the team that concluded a multi-year Cloud Platform Agreement with one of the largest Travel and Transportation entities in the country, providing the client access to core cloud services to facilitate their Journey to Cloud & AI and modernise their technology platforms towards their Digital Transformation Drive. 

Extensive experience across numerous consulting disciplines and methodologies, he has been involved in Data Analytics Implementations, developing and implementing business (and information management) strategies, designing and reengineering business processes, developing supply chain models, building activity based costing and profitability models and being part of large scale transformation and change management programmes.
